Professional Membership Terms & Conditions

  1. PPG Professional Membership is for Certified Positive Psychology Practitioners or Certified Strengths-Based Practitioners (Autism & Neurodiversity) using a Positive Psychology-Informed Approach who hold recognised certifications from credible training bodies. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis (see PPG ‘Professional Membership Application Instructions’ above).
  2. PPG Professional Membership covers Positive Psychology Coaching, Training, Facilitation, and Research, according to the member’s certification and scope of practice. It does not cover Counselling, Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, or medical areas of practice.
  3. PPG Professional Membership coverage is determined by the member’s scope of practice. Scope of practice may increase over time as the practitioner engages in CPD learning. Members are requested to update PPG on any changes to their scope of practice that could affect their registration or insurance and liability coverage by emailing: membership@ppnetwork.org
  4. PPG Professional Membership includes an automatic listing on the PPG Register of Practitioners. This is a public list on the PPG Membership site that clients may access to check the credentials of their practitioner (please see: https://positivepsychologyguild.org/directory/). Registration is linked to PPG Professional Membership status; should the membership expire (e.g. due to cancellation or late payment of annual fees), the registration will be automatically removed and no longer apply.
  5. PPG Professional Members are required to engage in 20 hours of CPD learning and 40 hours of Reflective Practice annually. PPG provides access to a CPD library that is included in the membership fee. This library is designed to help new members engage in CPD learning while they are building their practices and support all members in professional development.
  6. PPG requires Professional Members to follow their relevant set of professional guidelines (i.e. PPG Professional Guidelines for Positive Psychology Practitioners, PPG Professional Guidelines for Strengths-Based Autism Practitioners, or PPG Professional Guidelines for Neurodiversity & Inclusion Practitioners).
  7. PPG Professional Membership may include insurance and liability coverage for applicants based in the UK who are running a private practice. This falls under PPG’s group policy insurance and is limited to the practitioner’s scope of practice within the above areas (see 2). It is the member’s responsibility to read the policy document wording carefully and should any claims be made, to do so directly with the insurance company provider. PPG cannot advise on any claims. These documents are available to all members in the PPG Membership Site and are renewed annually.
  8. PPG Professional Membership fees are due annually via online card payment (Stripe). The annual standard fees are £150 (2026). In exceptional cases, a discount for the first year of membership may apply. Should this be the case, the applicant will be given a discount code. After this first year, the standard fees will apply unless otherwise agreed. Please note that fees are revised annually and should there be any changes, members will be informed. As a not-for-profit organisation, PPG is committed to keeping these fees as accessible as possible whilst allowing for the costs associated with ongoing service development.
  9. PPG is working towards regulation and improving standards of professional practice in a collaborative manner. It encourages feedback from Professional Members on all membership service areas (e.g. Professional Guidelines, Register of Practitioners, CPD Library) and welcomes any suggestions for future development.
  10. PPG takes Professional Member complaints and Client complaints seriously. To submit a complaint, please email: membership@ppnetwork.org
